Intro to Photoshop

photoshoptutorial_preview_cropped.jpg

The Project: Learners explore Photoshop through hands-on tours of the workspace and demo videos of the most useful tools.

Client: Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education

Tools: Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop

Overview

I created a hands-on Photoshop tutorial for beginners, starting with the basic Photoshop workspace and guiding learners through the basic editing tools. This project was originally designed in PowerPoint and has been adapted into Articulate Storyline for a more dynamic learner experience.

Audience

Originally designed for public school faculty (mostly teachers and administrative staff), this tutorial would be effective for any new Photoshop users.

Responsibilities

Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Visual Design, Video Editing

The Problem

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education wanted their faculty to have more technology and software skills. Educators expressed interest in learning Photoshop to be used in their classroom instruction with designing layouts for educational materials. I also conducted in-person workshops, but sometimes faculty members would miss sessions or want continued learning material to learn at their own pace.

The Solution

I created a PowerPoint version of this training so that faculty could practice their Photoshop skills at their own pace, as a supplement for the in-person workshops. The training contains a mixture of interactive Photoshop workspaces and training videos exploring the most useful tools. The current version of this project is now adapted to Articulate Storyline for smoother transitions and a more contemporary feel.
